How accurate is the handwriting recognition?

It reads most neat and everyday handwriting well, and keeps headings and lists. Very faint or tightly joined writing can need a few fixes, which you can make in the editor before saving.

Which languages does it support?

The app is available in 12 languages: English, Vietnamese, Danish, German, Spanish, Finnish, French, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Norwegian and Swedish. AI scans and chat also work with notes written in many other languages.

Are my documents uploaded?

Your documents are stored on your phone. The PDF tools and printed-text recognition run on the device. When you use an AI feature, and only after you agree, the image or text you choose is sent to Google Gemini (handwriting scan, Maintain Style, CSV Scan, the AI assistant), or the PDF you choose to ChatPDF (Chat with PDF), to produce the result.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up. Open the app and scan.

Is it free?

Yes. Every feature is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.

Can I use it on a tablet or computer?

AI Handwriting is an app for Android phones and iPhone. It installs on Android tablets with the phone layout.
